On September 11, 2024, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 2750 (2024), extending sanctions against Sudan until September 12, 2025, following a unanimous determination by the Council that the conflict in Sudan is still hindering humanitarian aid and subjecting Sudanese people to intensified fighting, human rights violations, and mass displacement. The Council also determined that targeted sanctions will help deescalate the conflict and restrict the movement of arms into Darfur, which has fueled the catalyzing activities in Sudan. The restrictive measures, including asset freezes, travel bans and an arms embargo, were also extended.
