The ever-growing number of whistleblower tips to federal agencies, combined with new award incentive programs, may be a preview of what to expect from the U.S. Government in the coming year. The SEC’s whistleblower program continues to break records, and the DOJ’s recent launch of its Corporate Whistleblower Awards Pilot Program is part of a larger governmental effort to “incentivize” the reporting of violations. Likewise, the DOJ’s latest revisions to its guidance on compliance programs underscore its sustained focus on evaluating the capabilities of a corporation’s compliance program in conducting an investigation and implementing appropriate remediation. In this one-hour webinar, Willkie attorneys Bill Stellmach, Andrew English, and Samantha Prince offer practical guidance on resolving common challenges arising from these developments and the important steps companies should take in bolstering their own whistleblower programs to adapt to this shifting regulatory landscape.
