On March 6, 2025, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (“FCDO”) announced that the Office was lifting asset freezes on 24 Syrian entities that had been sanctioned for supporting the Assad regime and the oppression of the Syrian people. According to a FCDO spokesperson, the entities were delisted to support the political transition in Syria and enable the Syrian people to rebuild their country and economy. The Central Bank of Syria, the Commercial Bank of Syria, and Syrian Arab Airlines are among the delisted entities.
