On February 16, 2021, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control revoked Counter Terrorism-related General Licenses 9-13 related to sanctions involving Ansarallah, after the State Department revoked Ansarallah’s designation as a Foreign Terrorist Organization pursuant to Global Terrorism Sanctions Regulations 31 CFR part 594, the Foreign Terrorist Organizations Sanctions Regulations, 31 CFR part 597, and Executive Order 13224, as amended. As a result, US persons are no longer required to request authorization from OFAC before engaging in transactions with Ansarallah. As part of its revocation, OFAC has removed the general licenses from its website and stated that it also intends to remove corresponding FAQs 875-877 from its website.
