In a recent securities filing, Utah-based Merit Medical Systems, Inc., a manufacturer and distributer of disposable medical devices, disclosed that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission had closed a foreign bribery investigation into the company that was launched in January 2022. According to the Form 10-K that Merit filed in February 2026, the SEC had ended its inquiry into “the business activities of Merit’s subsidiary in China, including interactions with hospitals and healthcare officials in China.” Merit stated it received notification from the SEC in the “quarter ended September 30, 2025” that the SEC was not taking enforcement action.
