On June 1, 2026, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control published “Introduction to the Office of Foreign Assets Control” to provide U.S. and foreign persons a general overview on how OFAC administers and enforces economic sanctions. The guide is intended to strengthen the effectiveness of OFAC’s sanctions program by helping the public to better understand OFAC’s expectations and to comply with U.S. sanctions. Guidance topics include how to comply with sanctions, how to request a license, and how persons can be removed from OFAC’s sanctions list.
