On January 24, 2022, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois issued a final order approving the $876,750 class action settlement between Richelieu Foods, Inc. and its employees. The plaintiff claimed that Richelieu Foods violated the Biometric Information Privacy Act by collecting data with its finger-scan timekeeping system without first executing a written release. Pursuant to the Settlement Agreement, participating class members are expected to receive approximately $2,500.
