United Technologies Corporation (UTC) has reported that in March 2018, the company disclosed possible gifts and entertainment violations to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice. The company stated that it is conducting an investigation of the circumstances surrounding customer entertainment and gifts that preceded UTC’s acquisition of B/E Aerospace. In September 2018, UTC settled bribery charges with the SEC related to activities of its Oits Elevator subsidiary in Asia.
