In a recent securities filing, Toyota Motor Corporation disclosed that the U.S. Department of Justice informed the company in June 2025 that the DOJ had closed its investigation into possible anti-bribery violations by a Toyota Thai subsidiary. According to the Form 20-F, in April 2020 Toyota reported to the DOJ and the Securities and Exchange Commission “possible anti-bribery violations related to” the Thai subsidiary. Toyota stated it had been cooperating with the DOJ and the SEC since that disclosure. The Form 20-F did not discuss the status of the SEC’s investigation.
