On March 14, 2025, the Council of the European Union decided to prolong individual sanctions against Russia for an additional six months, until September 15, 2025. These restrictive measures target those responsible for undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and currently subject listed persons to asset freezes and travel restrictions in the European Union. They also prohibit EU operators from making funds or other economic resources available to listed individuals and entities.
While sanctions will continue to apply to nearly 2400 listed individuals and entities, the Council decided not to renew sanctions against 4 individuals and also removed 3 deceased individuals from the sanctions list.
