The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury has sanctioned a Mexican arms trafficker pursuant to Executive Order 14059 for his support of the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (“CJNG”), a Mexican drug trafficking organization designated by the United States in 2015 pursuant to the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act, and in 2021 pursuant to Executive Order 14059. Today’s designee, Jesus Cisneros Hernandez, is accused of having conspired to purchase firearms in Wisconsin for the purpose of smuggling them to the CJNG.
As a result of Cisneros’ designation, all property and interests in the property of Cisneros within the United States or within the possession or control of a US person are blocked. US persons are generally prohibited from engaging in transactions involving designated persons.
