The Department of Justice unsealed a criminal complaint against Park Jin Hyok, a North Korean national, alleging that Park was a member of a government-sponsored hacking team responsible for several infamous cyber attacks, including the 2017 WannaCry 2.0 global ransomware attack, attacks on Sony Pictures Entertainment and the Bangladesh Bank, and attempted attacks on Lockheed Martin.
