In a speech delivered to the Latin Lawyer/Global Investigations Review Anti-Corruption and Investigations Conference in São Paulo, Brazil, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General John P. Cronan elaborated on the purpose and the operation of the DOJ’s FCPA Corporate Enforcement Policy. Specifically, Cronan explained the circumstances under which a deferred prosecution agreement would be appropriate as distinguished from a declination. Cronan also emphasized cooperation among domestic and international enforcement agencies.
