The Department of Justice announced that Arash Sepehri, an Iranian national, has pleaded guilty to charges that he conspired to cause the export of controlled goods and technology to Iran, in violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and the Iranian Transactions and Sanctions Regulations. Using various aliases and intermediaries in the UAE and Hong Kong, Sepehri conspired to obtain military-grade equipment such as protected laptops, acoustic transducers, and sonar equipment for an Iranian company, Tajhiz Sanat Shayan. Sepehri will be sentenced in January.
