Two individuals have been designated by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury pursuant to Executive Order 13692, as amended. The individuals, Jorge Alberto Arreaza Montserrat and Carol Bealexis Padilla de Arretureta, have served in the Venezuelan government under Nicolas Maduro in various capacities, including Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Minister of the People’s Power of Econological Mining Development, the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, and a judge in the Court of Appeals in Caracas.
As a result of the designations, all US property interests of the designated individuals, and any entity owned 50% or more by them, are blocked.
