OFAC delists former Venezuelan official

The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury has removed sanctions imposed on Manuel Ricardo Cristopher Figuera, who was designated on February 15, 2019 pursuant to Executive Order 13692.  Cristopher served as the Director General of the Venezuelan National Intelligence Service, but broke with the Maduro regime in early May 2019.

As a result of the delisting, property interests that were blocked as a result of Cristopher’s designation are unblocked, and lawful transactions between Cristopher and US persons are no longer prohibited.
