The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury has designated the Venezuelan Dirección General de Contrainteligencia Militar (the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence, or DGCIM) pursuant to Executive Order 13850, for operating in Venezuela’s defense and security sector.
As a result of the designation, US property belonging to the DGCIM is blocked, and US persons are generally prohibited from dealing with blocked property and designated persons.
