OFAC targets Iran nuclear procurement network

The US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has designated five individuals and seven entities pursuant to Executive Order 13382, for facilitating the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction by helping Iran acquire critical nuclear materials. The individuals are Iranian citizens, and the companies are based in Iran, China and Belgium. According to OFAC, the twelve individuals and entities act as a procurement network for the Iranian Centrifuge Technology Company (TESA), which produces centrifuges used by the Iranian atomic energy organization.  TESA was designated in November 2011 pursuant to Executive Order 13382.

As a result of the designations, US property of the designated individuals and entities is blocked, and US persons are generally prohibited from dealing with such property.
