OFAC designates individuals for serious human rights abuse

The US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has designated eighteen individuals and six entities for their roles in serious human rights abuse, pursuant to Executive Order 13818, which builds upon and implements the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act.  The individuals designated hail from Burma, Pakistan, Libya, Slovakia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and South Sudan.  The six designated entities are Slovakian companies owned or controlled by Marian Kocner: Hotel Holding, SRO; International Investment Development Holding AS; International Investment Hotels Holding AS; Sprava A Inkaso Pohladavok, SRO; Sprava A Inkaso Zmeniek, SRO; and Tranz-Tel, AS.

Following these sanctions, US property of the designated individuals and entities is blocked, and US persons are generally prohibited from dealing with the property or interests of blocked or designated persons.
