OFAC issues Venezuela-related General License, adds aircraft to SDN list

The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury has issued General License 20B, which replaces and supersedes General License 20A, dated August 5, 2019.  The new General License, “Authorizing Official Activities of Certain International Organizations Involving the Government of Venezuela,” authorizes transactions otherwise prohibited by Executive Orders 13850, 13857 and 13884, that involve enumerated international development banks, United Nations agencies and programs, and also the Banco Central de Venezuela and other government of Venezuela persons blocked pursuant only to Executive Order 13884.

The authorizations granted by General License 20B automatically renew on the first day of each month for 18 months beginning the effective date of General License 20B or its successors.

OFAC also added fifteen aircraft to its list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons, pursuant to Executive Order 13884.
