On March 11, 2020 the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated two Zimbabwe officials for human rights abuses related to political repression for attacking peaceful demonstrators and political opponents in Zimbabwe. Both designations are made pursuant to Executive Order 13469. As a result of these designations, US transactions with the individuals is prohibited and must be reported to OFAC. OFAC is also in the process of removing sanctions from four individuals who were previously designated under the Treasury’s Zimbabwe sanctions authorities.
