On September 2, 2020, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury and the US Department of State designated Fatou Bensouda and Phakiso Mochochoko, respectively the Chief Prosecutor and Head of the Division of Jurisdiction, Complementarity and Cooperation of the International Criminal Court in the Hague. The designations, pursuant to Executive Order 13928 (which enables the US government to block the property of certain persons associated with the ICC) entail both visa restrictions and economic sanctions.
