On February 2, 2021, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued general license 30A, pursuant to Venezuela Sanctions Regulations 31 CFR Part 591. General License 30A, “Authorizing Certain Transactions Necessary to Port and Airport Operations,” allows all transactions and activities involving the Government of Venezuela that are necessary for the use of ports and airports in Venezuela, that are otherwise prohibited by Executive Order 13884 of August 5, 2019. GL 30A also authorizes all transactions and activities involving the Instituto Nacional de los Espacios Acuaticos (INEA) or any entity in which the INEA owns a 50 percent or greater interest, that are necessary for the use of ports and airports in Venezuela, and are otherwise prohibited by EO 13850 of November 1, 2018, as amended by EO 13857 of January 25, 2019. This license is effective February 2, 2021 and replaces and supersedes GL 30 dated August 5, 2019 in its entirety.
