The EU Council recently removed the names of two individuals – Commander (Navy) Bion Na Tchongo (aka Nan Tchongo) and Captain Paulo Sunsai – from the Republic of Guinea-Bissau sanctions lists. The removals were effective August 5, 2021 upon the adoption of Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1302 implementing Article 11(1) of Regulation (EU) No 377/2021, and Council implementing Decision (CFSP) 2021/1306 implementing Decision 2012/285/CFSP.
