On February 10, 2022, the US Office of Foreign Assets Control announced the issuance of a final rule to remove Burundi Sanctions Regulation from the Code of Federal Regulations. These regulations are being removed as the result of the termination of the national emergency in Burundi, which was announced by President Biden on November 18, 2021. The final rule takes effect on February 11, 2022 upon publication in the Federal Register.
