Military contractors pay over $3 million in False Claims Act settlement

On May 18, 2022, the US Department of Justice announced the settlement of False Claims Act allegations with seven South Korean companies.  The companies, all either engineering or construction companies based in South Korea, had contracts with the United States government to perform services on US military bases in South Korea between 2016 and 2019.

The United States alleged that the companies conspired to suppress and eliminate competition during the bidding process on fifteen projects for the US Army Corps of Engineers, resulting in substantially higher contract prices paid by the United States.  The settlement requires each of the seven companies to pay $438,537.58
