OFAC sanctions persons involved in supplying Iranian drones to Russia

The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury has designated three companies and two individuals pursuant to Executive Orders 14024 and 13382 for their involvement in the production and transfer of unmanned aerial vehicles to Russia for use in attacks against Ukraine, and for their assistance to previously designated entities engaged in those activities.  The designated parties include Shahed Aviation Industries Research Center, Success Aviation Services FZC, and i Jet Global DMCC.  According to OFAC, Shahed Aviation is responsible for designing and producing the type of unmanned aerial vehicles used by Russian forces, while Success Aviation and i Jet Global are responsible for transporting them to Russia. 

Concurrent with these designations, the US Department of State has designated Russian Private Military Company “Wagner,” the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and Qods Aviation Industries.  The individuals designated by OFAC to supplement the State Department designations are Abbas Djuma and Tigran Khristoforovich Srabionov, designated for facilitating Wagner’s acquisition of unmanned aerial vehicles from Iran.

As a result of these designations, all property and interests in property of the designated parties within the United States or within the possession or control of a US person are blocked, and US persons are generally prohibited from engaging in transactions involving the designated persons.
