OFAC announces plan to launch new Compliance Hotline

On August 2, 2024, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control announced plans to launch a new and improved Compliance Hotline to enable OFAC to more efficiently monitor and respond to requests for sanctions guidance from the public.  The new Compliance Hotline will enable users to submit queries, including all relevant details, directly to OFAC through a new OFAC Compliance Hotline page.  The new platform is also intended to help OFAC better assess when additional public guidance is needed.

Following OFAC’s transition to the new hotline on January 1, 2025, it will serve as the sole platform that the public will use to submit queries to OFAC.  As part of this transition, OFAC announced that other existing methods for contacting OFAC will be retired.  OFAC’s Compliance Hotline email (OFAC_Feedback@treasury.gov) will be retired on August 16, 2024, and Compliance hotline telephone numbers (1-800-540-6322 and 202-622-2490) will be retired on December 31, 2024.
