Senior executives of Iranian drone manufacturer sanctioned by OFAC

The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury has designated eight senior executives of Paravar Pars Company pursuant to Executive Order 13382.

Paravar Pars Company was designated by the United States and the European Union on September 8, 2022 for manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles used by Russia in its war against Ukraine.  Now, Paravar Pars’ managing director and chief executive officer, the organization’s chairman of the board of directors, and several members of the board, are being designated.

In addition to the eight individuals, OFAC has designated two vessels pursuant to Executive Order 13599 as property in which the government of Iran has an interest.  The vessels, IRIS Makran and IRIS Dena, are an oil tanker repurposed for naval operations with the capability of launching unmanned aerial vehicles, and a naval frigate accompanying the tanker.

As a result of these designations, all property and interests in property of today’s designees within the United States or within the possession or control of a US person are blocked, and US persons are generally prohibited from engaging in transactions involving the designated persons.
