On April 17, 2024, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control published a final rule in the Federal Register in order to officially remove the Zimbabwe Sanctions Regulations, 31 CFR Part 541, from the Code of Federal Regulations (“CFR”). The regulations were removed after President Biden issued Executive Order 14118, “Termination of Emergency with Respect to the Situation in Zimbabwe” on March 4, 2024, which effectively terminated the national emergency declared in EO 13228, as modified by EO 13991 and EO 13469. The final rule was effective on April 17, 2024 upon publication in the Federal Register.
