Alena Douhan, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of human rights, recently launched the Sanctions Research Platform. The online platform is a comprehensive collection of resources and research related to unilateral sanctions and their impact on human rights. It is intended to serve as an independent reference tool to enable the public to collect, research and analyze global sanctions data. The platform was established over a two-year period to facilitate sanctions research and strengthen global awareness, and it contains resources in all six official UN languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish. It also has no access or usage restrictions, and all users are invited to submit relevant materials, including publications and multimedia files, to support and enhance the platform.
