The statute of limitations is six years starting from the day on which the offense was committed (Art. 8 of the French Criminal Procedure Code), i.e. the day of the act facilitating the false justification of the funds or the act constituting the assistance with investing, concealing or converting funds.

For hidden or concealed offenses, the statute of limitations starts from the day on which the offense appeared and could be established under conditions allowing the initiation or prosecution of the offense, without the statute of limitations exceeding 12 years from the day the offense was actually committed (Art. 9-1 of the French Criminal Procedure Code).
