On October 23, 2023, the Council of the EU extended restrictive measures against ISIL/Da’esh and Al-Qaeda and individuals and entities associated with them for an additional year, until October 31, 2024. The restrictive measures include asset freezes, travel bans and forbid persons and entities in the EU from making funds, financial assets or economic resources available to them.
On the same day, the Council also renewed restrictive measures that address the situation in Burundi. The restrictive measures, which currently apply to one individual, were extended for an additional year, until October 31, 2024. As a result, the designated individual will remain subject to an asset freeze and travel ban, and EU citizens and companies are forbidden from making funds available to him.
