On February 13, 2026, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (“FinCEN”) launched a new webpage to enable whistleblowers to confidentially provide the government with tips on fraud, money laundering, and sanctions violations. U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent also announced that individuals who provide tips that lead to a successful enforcement action may be eligible to receive a financial reward. Whistleblowers are encouraged to provide tips regarding suspected violations and conspiracies of federal laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act and U.S. sanctions programs, and also urged to submit detailed, specific documentation to support their claims. Tips should be submitted at fincen.gov/whistleblower. The webpage was announced just over a month after the Department issued a series of initiatives to combat fraud in response to government fraud schemes that were recently uncovered in Minnesota.
