Stericycle Inc., a drug waste management company based in Lake Forest, Illinois, announced that the US Securities and Exchange Commission is continuing its investigation into the company’s compliance with the FCPA, and that the US Department of Justice has notified the company that it is also investigating the matter. These government investigations are being conducted in relation to an Audit Committee internal investigation into possible violations of anti-corruption laws in Latin America and elsewhere. The company has noted that its internal investigation has uncovered evidence of improper conduct.
