SFO fines marine transport company £850,000 for Angola bribery

On June 3, 2019, the UK Serious Fraud Office announced that FH Bertling Ltd has been fined £850,000 for paying approximately $350,000 in bribes to a state-owned Angolan oil company in order to secure $20 million of freight forwarding contracts.  The company is now in liquidation. Since the SFO began its investigation of FH Bertling in September 2014, nine individuals have been convicted, and four were acquitted.  Recent convictions in the case are described here
