In a February 4, 2020 filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., a company headquartered in Texas that provides technical and consulting services for engineering projects around the world, reported that in late October 2019, the company received a request from the Enforcement Division of the SEC asking for the voluntary production of documents relating to the operations of a joint venture in Morocco of which Jacobs was previously an owner. Jacobs did not provide further details regarding the SEC investigation other than to say that it may involve “possible corrupt practices” relating to the JV. The company also stated that it is fully cooperating with the SEC, including producing the requested documents.
