In its annual report filed February 12, 2020, Raytheon Company, a weapons and electronics manufacturer and defense contractor headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, disclosed that it had received a subpoena from the US Securities and Exchange Commission seeking information about potentially improper payments made in the Middle East by Thales-Raytheon Systems Company (TRSC) or its agents, beginning in 2014. TRSC is a joint venture between Raytheon and Thales Group, a French aerospace and defense company. Raytheon indicated that it is cooperating with the SEC’s investigation, and is examining whether the conduct of anyone acting on behalf of TRSC violated Raytheon’s anti-corruption compliance policy.
