On May 27, 2021, the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control removed Frequently Asked Question 880 from its website and published FAQ 896 to announce that the Xiaomi Corporation’s designation as a Communist Chinese military company (CCMC) pursuant to Executive Order 13959 was vacated on May 25, 2021, pursuant to an order in the US District Court for the District of Columbia in Xiaomi Corporation v. Department of Defense (Case No. 1:21-cv-0028-RC). As a result, EO 13959 prohibitions will no longer apply to the Xiaomi Corporation.
